MISSION STATEMENT

Why We Focus on Insurance Companies

Insurance is a business like any other. Their goal is to make profit. The more premiums they collect, and the less they pay out in claims, the more money they make. This profit motive causes the insurance company to work very hard to pay you as little as possible (or nothing) for your injuries, even when they know their insured is at fault and responsible.

All insurance companies employ very experienced adjusters and defense attorneys, whose sole responsibility is to protect the pocket book of the insurance company. Insurance companies are mainly in business to make money, not to pay claims. The less they pay out in an accident, the greater their profit.

Keep in mind that the insurance industry has spent many years and vast sums of money on three projects.

First, they have conducted a vast public relations campaign to convince the public (potential jurors) that most personal injury claims are bogus.

Second, insurance companies have spent a fortune and many years convincing lawmakers around the country to change the law to reduce or eliminate your ability to go to court to recover compensation when you are severely injured. Since the insurance industry is one of the richest in the country, and it donates large sums of cash to political campaigns, the industry has been very effective in getting politicians to vote in their favor at the expense of individuals. Simply put, money talks, especially in politics. One of the most obvious examples is how juries are never informed that an insurance company is the actual defendant, that is defending the case and attempting to avoid responsibility. Juries are often legally prevented from even knowing who the actual parties are in a trial because the insurance industry has learned that this results in juries returning smaller verdicts, regardless of the injuries suffered. When they are falsely led to believe “elderly Mrs. Johnson” is party responsible when it actually is a billion dollar corporation, verdicts are often a fraction of the compensation actually owed.

Third, they have spent millions of dollars and thousands of hours studying the most effective arguments and proper phrasing to use in trial to avoid their financial responsibility, from always denying liability for the injuries even when it is100 % clear, to hiring insurance doctors who examine for 10 minutes and claim they weren’t injured, these tactics are studied and tested to be used to maximum effectiveness. It takes an experienced trial attorney to combat these techniques.
